Se dice "privativoh" (es en serio, busquen ambas palabras en un diccionario).

No creo que se pueda usar 100% software libre en un PC por varias razones, y si se puede lo más probable es que haya problemas con el hardware o cosas así, además muchos sitios web usan javascript privativo. Lo que sí se puede intentar es usar más programas libres que no libres por razones como bueno, la privacidad y obviamente la libertad, supongo. A este punto todos podemos usar al menos un 80% software libre (reproductores de música, suites de oficina, SO's, redes sociales...), la cosa es que la gente no conoce o no quiere porque lo más "cool" para la mayoría es lo que los gigantes tecnológicos hacen y si hay algo alternativo "debe ser pura basura".

Hurd ha languidecido por años y no ha avanzado a un punto que pueda reemplazar a Linux. BSD con GNU es una mezcla rara. OSX también.
En los 80 era otra cosa, GNU la llevaba en el mundo de las maquinas Sun, HP/Apollo y DEC, incluso NeXT cuando salió. Eran los únicos que tenían versiones decentes de software para las maquinas Unix.

Sí po, bacán todos los méritos de Linux, pero están llevando al software libre a su ruina y para mí eso es motivo suficiente para mandarlos a la mierda ww.

Por lo mismo que dices entonces podríamos prestarle ropa a Microsoft, porque "han ayudado a avanzar los sistemas operativos", pero a costa de espionaje y trato abusivo con sus usuarios.

Linux hace rato se está yendo a la mierda igual.

Pues a mí me gusta systemd. Lo de la filosofía UNIX está muy bien, aunque para ciertas características se requiere una mejor integración para obtener un resultado práctico y eficiente donde los estándares POSIX se quedan cortos.
