Today something struck me: Why am I doing this? Why am I learning Japanese?
I can't seem to remember the reason why I started doing this in the first place. I've seen a shitload of anime and read quite a bit of manga, but is that a good enough reason to learn a whole new language? After 4000 hours and years of learning it, all I'll have to show for it is being able to watch anime without subtitles and reading raw manga and light novels. Is it really worth it all just for that?

I'm in two minds right now. Should I give up? Could you answer me, what is your reason for learning Japanese, or any language you're learning?
