>what are your thoughts on the world?
World's doing worse than it could be doing.
>who or what is to blame for the state of society?
Nothing and no one in particular, really. It's a combination of complacency and lack of any real conflict or purpose that keeps people lazy, indifferent and unmotivated. Back before 1989 we had a goal to build communism and people liked the feeling that society was heading somewhere. The Americans likewise had the purpose to stop us and build what they saw as a fair and just world and that undoubtedly made them feel the same way. But now, there is no grand master plan, no conflict, no real no real incentive to move things forward.
>how could we fix it?
Reignite all the old conflicts and it'll get the world back on track. With any luck, we'll see a return of that rapid technological progress we saw during the Cold War.
