Alright, here are some tips:

first step: update your resume
second step: go fill a job application
third step: get the job
fourth step: work

3 : Nameless@Passing through the lobby [CL] (191.119.*.*) : 18/10/16(tue)00:05:55 ID:cielK88Aa

but it's not that easy

4 : Nameless@Passing through the lobby [CL] (*.movistar.cl) : 18/10/16(tue)00:31:58 ID:9/S4BRRd0

Actually yes, it is. I mean, you can only apply to retail kind of jobs, or waiter, vendor, and such, but in these seasons they're always taking up applications. They will hardly turn you down, even if your resume is not that good. On the contrary, it's way harder to find these kind of jobs in the summer time, because many people apply for part-time then. But in the middle of october? That's a piece of cake.

Jobs are for the weak.

8 : Nameless@Passing through the lobby [CL] (*.vtr.net) : 18/10/16(tue)13:06:43 ID:RVi4EmUka

no actually i can't apply to most retail jobs, not with faceless HR bureaucrats requiring a high school diploma. and i'm not getting a job as a waiter with no job experience. it's a tough job.

Hard work soothes all cravings of the flesh.

you don't have a high school diploma? whoa I was assuming you did. Well, then you're in the shit mate w good luck

11 : Nameless@Passing through the lobby [CL] (191.116.*.*) : 18/10/16(tue)21:49:21 ID:4Jl86TYxa

i don't think not having a HS diploma is _that_ big of a deal. there's quite a few places which aren't as bureaucratic. the real catch 22 is my poverty.

12 : Nameless@Passing through the lobby [US] (137.146.*.*) : 18/10/16(tue)21:58:50 ID:ZvyzCtMB0

Actually, >>7, jobs are for the week.

13 : Nameless@Passing through the lobby [CL] (*.movistar.cl) : 18/10/16(tue)22:10:44 ID:9/S4BRRd0

>>11
... what? They will ask for your diploma in any place, even in McDonalds or a callcenter. Poverty has absolutely nothing to do with this, this is not an application for CEO we're talking about, we are talking about retail kind of things, or waiter in a restaurant, etc. They will definitely not gonna tell you "I'm sorry, I can't let you work here, you're too poor".

14 : Nameless@Passing through the lobby [CL] (191.116.*.*) : 18/10/16(tue)22:59:24 ID:4Jl86TYxa

i think a certificate that you're enrolled in school is enough for working at mcdonalds, not that i could get one at this time of the year.

15 : : 18/10/16(tue)23:09:41 ID:9/S4BRRd0

Well yeah, I recall some friends working at McDonalds at the age of 16 or so. The thing is, they were in school by that time though. It's different if you didn't finish school and you want to work without that title. But I don't know anyway, I'm just speculating. I'm all for >>1 going out to fill actual job applications.

16 : : 19/10/16(wed)00:24:55 ID:hKv0Dwv4a

i want to be optimistic about it, but i guess the usual venues are closed for me.

You can always work as a freelancer though. You'll gain less than minimum wage, but at least you'll get to be productive.
